By Amitesh Fauzdar and team, wedding planners in Jaipur
Everyone has an opinion on what Samskara costs. Your cousin says it is cheap because it is a farm resort. The family WhatsApp group says it is expensive because of the villas. The resort says, "Please call us." Nobody gives you an actual number.
We plan weddings in Jaipur every season, and Samskara keeps coming up in client calls. So we sat down with the resort's own pages, wrote down every price and capacity they publish, and built budgets for 100, 200 and 400 guests on top of that. Where the resort gives no price, we say so and use our own ranges from weddings we have handled.
One request: double-check any number you read online, including ours. A few prices floating around are old, and even the resort's own pages disagree in places. We point those out below.
Samskara is a resort in the middle of seven acres of amla trees, out in farmland. There are no palace walls, no old courtyards and no lobby with a ballroom upstairs. You get grass, trees, a big pool and the whole property to yourself while you are there.
That changes where your money goes. At a palace you pay a lot for the name and the building. You can see what that looks like in our Chomu Palace wedding cost breakdown. Here you pay for space and rooms, and then you pay to dress that space. Nobody has built a backdrop for you, so plan for a bigger décor bill than you would at a heritage property.
The address is Village Peepla Bharatsingh, Jaisinghpura, Jaipur 302029. The resort says it is about 15 km from Jaipur airport, which is around 20 minutes, and 20 km from the city centre, around 30 minutes. Here it is on Google Maps.
Guests landing in Jaipur have an easy ride. Guests who want to see the old city, a UNESCO World Heritage site, will be in a car for half an hour each way. Put cars or a coach in your budget. On weddings we run, transport costs ₹1–2 lakh for 100 guests and can cross ₹10 lakh for 400 guests spread over several hotels.
Two small things. The last stretch is village road, so do not send elderly relatives alone after dark. And check the mobile network at your site visit, because your vendors need to reach you on the day. If you are planning sightseeing or shoots, look at Rajasthan Tourism and our page on a pre-wedding shoot in Jaipur.
The resort lists seven spaces on its official wedding venue page. We have added a note on how we would use each one.
| Space | Capacity (resort) | Best used for | Our note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Banquet Lawn (2+ acres) | Up to 800 | Pheras, reception, large sangeet | Your main stage. Needs a full décor build. |
| Bodhi Banquet (indoor) | Up to 400 | Seated dinner, reception, weather-safe functions | Your backup in any season. Keep it on hold. |
| Hotel Lawn | Up to 250 | Ceremonies, sangeet, outdoor dinner | Useful by day while the main lawn is being dressed. |
| Villa Anoushka private lawn | Up to 200 | Haldi, mehndi, family functions | Close to the couple's villa. |
| Karma Cafe | Up to 100 | Welcome dinner, family brunch | Can be reserved whole. |
| Pool Deck | Up to 100 | Mehndi, cocktails, after-party | Beside the 10,000 sq ft infinity pool. |
| Sunken Courtyard | Up to 50 | Small ceremonies, cocktail evenings | Tucked away. Good for a private moment. |
Be careful with capacity. The resort's pages do not agree with each other. Some older pages say 200 for the lawns, and one listing site says over 1,000. It is probably seated versus standing. Ask for the number for your own layout, in writing.
These are the starting rates from the resort's rooms and villas page. "From" means from. Your date can cost more.
| Room type | Rooms | Starting rate per night | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luxury Room | 16 | ₹7,219 | Parents, friends sharing in pairs |
| Cottage Villa with Bathtub | 14 | ₹9,588 | Families with children |
| Cottage with Plunge Pool | 4 | ₹16,225 | Close relatives |
| Villa Ananya (4 bedrooms, private garden) | 1 | ₹40,120 | Groom's family |
| Villa Anoushka (3 bedrooms, private pool) | 1 | ₹44,250 | Bridal retreat |
| Kothi Heritage Rooms | 13 | Wedding packages only | Extended family |
If you have seen ₹3,499 for the Kothi Heritage Rooms or ₹32,999 for Villa Anoushka on other sites, those figures are old. The resort now shows Villa Anoushka from ₹44,250, and the Kothi Heritage Rooms are sold only with wedding packages.
The resort says its rooms hold roughly 100 to 150 guests. Our own thumb rule is 100 guests comfortably, 150 if you mix in kids and sharing. Beyond that you need hotels in town and a shuttle plan.
The wedding page shows a full-property buyout. Two nights, room only. All 50 rooms and every space, including the Banquet Lawn, Bodhi Banquet and Hotel Lawn. The price is ₹17.5 lakh + GST. Food is separate, through the resort kitchen or caterers of your choice.
The same page also shows ₹32.5 lakh sitting next to it, which looks like the old price. Ask which one applies to your dates and get it in writing before you do anything else.
₹17.5 lakh across 50 rooms and 2 nights is ₹17,500 a room-night. That is more than any starting rate in the table above. The reason is simple: you are also paying to keep the whole property to yourself. A rough split looks like this.
| Part of the buyout | Rough value | How we worked it out |
|---|---|---|
| All rooms for two nights | About ₹9–9.5 lakh | Published starting rates, plus an assumed ₹5,000 for the 13 Kothi rooms, which have no public rate |
| Venues and exclusivity | About ₹8 lakh | What is left: lawns, banquet, pool deck and privacy |
| Buyout on the resort page | ₹17.5 lakh + GST | Resort wedding page |
| GST at 18% (to confirm) | About ₹3.15 lakh | We budget 18% on venue services. Confirm the exact rate in writing. |
| Budget figure to use | About ₹20.65 lakh | Buyout plus GST |
Starting rates are the floor, so the real gap between rooms and venue may be smaller. Use this as a sense-check, not an invoice. Current tax rates are on the official GST portal.
Our view: if you will fill most of the rooms, or you want the place private, take the buyout. If you only need 20 to 25 rooms, ask for a room block plus a separate venue charge and put the two quotes side by side. And remember what the buyout does not cover: food, bar, décor, entertainment, a third night, and any guest who sleeps somewhere else.
Outside caterers are allowed. The resort says so on its wedding page, and a few blogs still get this wrong. You can use the in-house kitchen, bring your own caterer, or split the meals. The in-house team cooks North Indian, South Indian, Continental and Chinese, and handles Jain and other diets if you tell them early.
The resort does not publish wedding plate rates. These are the numbers we plan with for mid-range resort weddings in Jaipur, before tax.
| Meal | Typical cost per guest | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Breakfast | ₹500–800 | Karma Cafe or on the lawn |
| Lunch | ₹1,000–1,600 | Rajasthani thali or live counters |
| Hi-tea and snacks | ₹300–500 | Mehndi and haldi afternoons |
| Dinner | ₹1,800–2,800 | The big meal. Live counters push this up. |
| Late-night chai and chaat | ₹250–400 | Small cost, big guest favourite |
| Bar (if open) | ₹1,500–2,500 per person per evening | Plus licence and bartending, usually ₹1–3 lakh |
Not every day has every meal. For a normal day we budget ₹3,000–4,500 a guest, so ₹6,000–9,000 over two days. Add 18% GST, and a 10% service charge if the resort kitchen cooks. With your own caterer, ask the resort about any kitchen or entry fee, and ask the caterer for their FSSAI licence. Our wedding catering services page explains how we run tastings for this kind of set-up.
These are our estimates, not the resort's quotes. We used the published buyout and our own contract ranges for everything else. Our destination wedding cost in Jaipur guide uses the same method for other venues.
| Cost line | 100 guests | 200 guests | 400 guests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buyout, 2 nights, with 18% GST | ₹20.65 L | ₹20.65 L | ₹20.65 L |
| Food and drinks, with taxes | ₹8–12 L | ₹15–23 L | ₹28–43 L |
| Décor and lighting | ₹6–12 L | ₹12–25 L | ₹20–40 L |
| Photography and film | ₹2–4 L | ₹3–5 L | ₹4–8 L |
| Entertainment | ₹2–5 L | ₹4–8 L | ₹8–20 L |
| Guest transport and overflow hotels | ₹1–2 L | ₹4–8 L | ₹10–20 L |
| Power, permits and extras | ₹2–4 L | ₹3–6 L | ₹6–10 L |
| Planner fee | ₹2.3–3 L | ₹3–5 L | ₹5–8 L |
| Buffer (8%) | Included in total | Included in total | Included in total |
| Estimated total | ₹47–68 L | ₹70 L to ₹1.09 Cr | ₹1.10–1.83 Cr |
| Per guest | ₹47,000–68,000 | ₹35,000–54,000 | ₹27,500–46,000 |
We assumed two nights, three or four functions, mid-range menus, the buyout with 18% GST, a planner fee in our Essential to Premium range and 8% kept aside for last-minute changes. For 200 and 400 guests, anyone who does not fit in the 50 rooms stays in a nearby hotel. We left out outfits, jewellery, invitations and family gifts.
Look at the per-guest row. It falls as the list grows, because the buyout is one fixed block. Going from 100 to 200 guests adds roughly ₹23–41 lakh, not double. So if you have to trim, cut the names who were never going to travel before you cut décor. For other sizes, see our wedding budget for 100, 200 and 500 guests, or the Hindi guide, Jaipur mein shaadi ka total kharcha.
At a palace, the walls do half the job. Here it is grass, trees and sky, so the décor team builds everything. These are the ranges we see for one main function.
| Décor level | What you get | Cost per main function |
|---|---|---|
| Simple | Fresh florals, draping, simple mandap, basic lighting | ₹3–6 lakh |
| Premium themed | Custom mandap, stage design, ambient lighting | ₹8–15 lakh |
| Grand luxury | Imported flowers, custom structures, LED walls, concert lighting | ₹15–30 lakh |
The buyout is the headline. The final bill is a pile of small lines. Ask about each one before you pay anything.
| Cost | What to ask |
|---|---|
| GST on buyout, rooms and food | Is the quote with or without GST, and at what rate? |
| Service charge on food | Does it apply to the resort kitchen, and to outside caterers? |
| A third night or early set-up | What does the décor team pay to enter the day before? |
| Overflow hotels and shuttles | Who arranges them, and what is the cost per trip? |
| Power backup and sound | Is the generator included, and who pays for fuel? |
| Music cut-off | What is the end time? One listing site mentions limits on late music and overnight events, so confirm it. |
| Bar and licence | In-house bar only, or can we bring a licensed bar vendor? |
| Décor vendor rules | Is there an entry fee or a deposit? Any limits on structures, fire or pyro? |
| Rain or dust backup | Can the Bodhi Banquet be held for every evening, and what does a switch cost? |
| Cancellation and postponement | What is refundable, and by when? |
Yes. The resort says October to March is wedding season, with November to February the busiest. In our Jaipur contracts, the same wedding moves 20 to 40 percent depending on the month. That is a market pattern, not Samskara's rate card, so ask whether the buyout itself changes by season.
| Season | Months | Price effect | What it means at Samskara |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak | 15 Nov to 15 Feb | 1.3x to 1.5x | Cool evenings, ideal for outdoor pheras. The resort advises asking 6 to 12 months ahead. |
| Shoulder | October and 1 to 15 March | 1.0x to 1.15x | Good value. Daytime can be warm. Holi falls in March. |
| Off-peak | April to June | 0.7x to 0.85x | Hot. Run outdoor functions early morning or late evening, and lean on the air-conditioned Bodhi Banquet. |
| Monsoon | July to September | 0.6x to 0.8x | Mostly indoor celebrations. The orchard is at its greenest. |
Dates also follow the muhurat. Weddings restart after Dev Uthani Ekadashi in the second half of November, and panchang calendars list a cluster of dates in early December. Check with your family pandit before you block anything. For month-by-month planning, read the best month for a Jaipur wedding, and keep an eye on the India Meteorological Department forecast.
Rain in wedding season is rare, not impossible. Here is how we saved one outdoor function: the rain-proof outdoor wedding story.
Samskara sits somewhere between a city hotel and a palace. The ranges for the other venues come from our contracts at 150 to 200 guests for two days. Each quote has a different scope, so read this table for direction, not as an exact comparison.
| Venue | Style | Approx. 2-day cost | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|---|
| Samskara Resort | Farm resort, 50 rooms, 7 acres | ₹60–95 L (our all-in estimate at 150 guests) | You want privacy, big lawns and everyone on site |
| Clarks Amer | 5-star hotel, 150 rooms | ₹38–55 L | You want big lawns and an easy hotel set-up |
| Ananta Spa and Resort | Luxury resort, 160 rooms | ₹40–70 L | You want hillside views and more rooms |
| Chomu Palace | Heritage palace | ₹60 L–1.2 Cr | You want real heritage and a 300 to 700 guest capacity |
| Fairmont Jaipur | 5-star, 245 rooms | ₹70 L–1.5 Cr | You have a large list and need many rooms |
More options are on our list of wedding venues in Jaipur and in the palace wedding venues comparison. And if you are curious about the top end, here is the Rambagh Palace budget guide.
Book Samskara if you want the whole property for two or three days, your list is 100 to 150 so most people can sleep on site, and you like open lawns more than palace architecture. You should also be happy to build the look yourself and to bring your own caterer or planner.
Look elsewhere if you want a heritage backdrop without building anything, if your guests would rather stay near the old city markets, if your list is above 250 and you cannot arrange good hotels and transport, or if you need everything within ten minutes of the centre.
Send these in one email and keep the thread. The resort says it replies within 8 working hours.
You do not need to haggle hard. Ask for a package, not a price list. A buyout with a third night or early décor access often works out better than paying for each item. Be flexible on dates, because shoulder months and weekdays move the price more than any discount request. Decide food and bar early, since the sooner you say who cooks and who pours, the better the terms. Ask for the buyout and for a room block with venue charges, then compare. And put every promise in the contract.
On payments, the pattern we see most is 30% at booking, 40% about three months before, and 30% a month before. Ask for the resort's schedule in writing.
| When | What to do |
|---|---|
| 9 to 12 months before | Visit at sunset. Lock your dates. Send the 15 questions. Get the buyout in writing. |
| 6 to 9 months before | Book the planner, décor, photographer and entertainment. Finish version one of the guest list. Check the muhurat. |
| 4 to 6 months before | Hold the menu tasting. Draft the rooming list. Book overflow hotels and transport. |
| 2 to 3 months before | Approve décor mock-ups. Confirm permits, power and insurance. Rehearse entertainment. |
| 1 month before | Final headcount, rooming list, run-of-show and rain plan. |
| Wedding week | Vendor arrivals, décor set-up, guest arrivals, welcome dinner. |
The resort has its own events team. It handles set-up and breakdown, sound and lighting coordination, rooms and in-house catering, and it says plenty of families bring their own planners and vendors. That is useful. But the resort manages the property. Someone still has to manage your budget, your vendors, your guests and three days of schedule.
That is the job of a wedding planner in Jaipur. We have been doing it for more than 12 years, so we know which vendors work well on a lawn like this, what to ask the resort and where bills tend to grow. Some of it shows in our real wedding stories.
Our fee for a wedding this size usually lands between ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh, and the Jaipur wedding packages page shows what each plan covers. Couples living abroad can see how we run NRI wedding planning over video calls. For vendors, see our photography and videography and entertainment services pages. If your family follows Marwari or Punjabi rituals, we plan both: Marwari weddings and Punjabi weddings.
The resort publishes a two-night, room-only buyout of ₹17.5 lakh + GST. Add food, décor, photography, entertainment, transport, a planner and tax, and we estimate ₹47–68 lakh for 100 guests, ₹70 lakh to ₹1.1 crore for 200 guests and ₹1.1–1.8 crore for 400 guests.
The wedding page shows ₹17.5 lakh + GST for two nights, room only, covering all 50 rooms and every venue. It also shows a higher ₹32.5 lakh figure beside it, so confirm which one applies to your dates.
No. The published buyout is room only. Food is arranged separately, through the resort kitchen or your own caterer.
Starting rates are ₹7,219 for a Luxury Room, ₹9,588 for a Cottage Villa with Bathtub, ₹16,225 for a Cottage with Plunge Pool, ₹40,120 for Villa Ananya and ₹44,250 for Villa Anoushka. Kothi Heritage Rooms come with wedding packages only.
The resort lists the Banquet Lawn for up to 800 guests and the Bodhi Banquet for up to 400. About 100 to 150 guests can stay on site. Confirm the capacity for your own layout in writing.
Yes. The resort says outside catering is welcome. You can also use its kitchen or mix both. Ask about any fee, and share your caterer's FSSAI licence.
About 15 km, or roughly 20 minutes by car. The city centre is about 20 km away, around 30 minutes.
October to March, and especially November to February, when the evenings are cool. Summer and monsoon weddings work too, built around the air-conditioned Bodhi Banquet. See the best month for a Jaipur wedding.
For peak dates, the resort suggests reaching out 6 to 12 months ahead. Auspicious muhurat dates fill first.
Yes, if your list is around 100 to 150 and you want everyone on one property. A planner who can handle flights, transport and overflow hotels helps a lot. Here is how we handle NRI weddings in Jaipur.
The resort's buyout is ₹17.5 lakh + GST, and that is the easy part. The real cost is what you spend to turn two acres of lawn into a wedding, and where your extra guests sleep. Get the buyout, GST, capacity and music cut-off in writing, build your budget from the table above, and keep 8% aside.
