Picture the guest list. Your father has 400 names, your in-laws have 500, and the rest are friends, neighbours and the people nobody can leave out. Somewhere around 1,200, the usual hotel banquets stop being an option. That is the moment Jaipur Vilas Resort on Rampura Road starts coming up in family conversations.

The trouble starts when you try to find out what it costs. There is no rate card and no package page. A few listing sites show a plate rate and some rules, and they do not always agree. So we collected what is public, did the sums a planner does before a venue visit, and added the checks that families usually discover too late.

The short answer

Here is the short version. Three numbers decide almost everything at this venue, and none of them is the rental.

Number Where it comes from What it does to your wedding
₹900 Listed veg plate rate (non-veg ₹1,000) Makes food cheap on paper. Check what it really covers, because the same listing says the venue provides no food.
11 PM Listed closing time, with no late music and no overnight events Sets the clock for your baraat, pheras and vidaai.
90 Listed parking space, in vehicles A 1,000-guest wedding needs far more. Parking becomes your biggest logistics job.

Our all-in estimate for one main wedding day is ₹16–35 lakh for 500 guests, ₹27–63 lakh for 1,000 guests and ₹38–86 lakh for 1,500 guests. That leaves out guest rooms and outfits, because the venue has neither accommodation nor your wardrobe. The rest of this guide shows how we got there, so you can change the inputs for your own family.

Where it sits, and what else is nearby

One listing gives the address as 1 Rampura Road, Ganpati Nagar, Sanganer, Jaipur 302020. Another says near Kesar Chouraha, Rampura Road, with a 302029 pin code. Both describe the same stretch, and you can check it on Google Maps. By the map coordinates it is roughly 6 km from Jaipur airport in a straight line, so flying-in relatives will not spend long in the car. A listing site puts Sanganer railway station about 1 km away and Mansarovar metro station about 4 km away, and the Jaipur Metro site has current route details.

What makes the venue unusual is size. Here is how it compares with two other Sanganer-side lawns, using the seating and floating numbers on their listings.

Venue Biggest lawn, seated Biggest lawn, floating or max Rooms Listed veg plate
Jaipur Vilas Resort 1,500 2,500 None ₹900
Pride Amber Vilas Resort (Central Lawn) 500 1,100 Not checked From ₹2,300
V2 Paradise Resort and Villas 500 700 8 rooms and suites Not listed

Jaipur Vilas seats about three times as many people as the biggest lawn at either neighbour. That is why it works for a 1,000-plus wedding and why it feels wrong for a family of 150. The plate rate gap is just as big, and you will see why it matters in a moment. Our list of wedding venues in Jaipur covers other sizes, and the Pride Amber Vilas figures come from its WedMeGood page.

Capacity: read the second number with suspicion

Space Seating Maximum Seating as a share of max
Lawn 1,500 2,500 60%
Air-conditioned hall 400 600 About 67%
Both together 1,900 3,100 About 61%

The maximum is a standing figure. It leaves no space for a stage, a walkway, a dance floor or a single food counter. Your wedding needs all four, so plan against the seating number, and ask the resort for a layout drawing with your counters and tables marked on it. The listing’s own seating figures land at roughly 60% of its maximum, which is a sensible rule of thumb for any lawn.

The hall is the one space that is not a lawn, and it matters more than its size suggests. At 400 seated it cannot take a rainy-day crowd of 1,000. But it is air conditioned and enclosed, and that has a legal side that we will come to in the next section.

Let's Create Your Dream Wedding

Why 11 PM matters more than anything else on the list

The listing says the venue runs from 8 AM to 11 PM, allows no late music and does not allow overnight events. A second listing shows opening until midnight, so confirm the real closing time. Whichever it is, plan for 11.

There is a reason open lawns behave this way. India’s Noise Pollution (Regulation and Control) Rules, 2000 say that loudspeakers and public address systems should not be used between 10 PM and 6 AM, except in closed premises such as auditoria, community halls and banquet halls. States can allow a limited number of festival nights up to midnight. You can read a summary on SCC Online, and the Central Pollution Control Board hosts the rules.

We cannot tell you how this resort applies the rule. But it gives you two questions worth asking in writing. Does a 10 PM sound cut-off apply on the open lawn? And can the air-conditioned hall carry your late music for the last hour, since it is an enclosed space? If the answer to the second is yes, you have found a way to keep the party going without breaking the clock.

Planning backwards from the closing time

Winter dusk in Jaipur arrives around 5:30 PM, so a December baraat reaches the gate in full darkness and your lighting must be ready from the start. In June the sun sets after 7 PM, which pushes the same baraat into the heat. Here is an evening plan that works backwards from 11 PM and assumes a pheras muhurat that allows 9 PM.

Time What happens Why it sits there
11:00 PM Venue closes. Lawn empty. Listed closing time.
10:30 PM Vidaai. Family photos wrap up. Leaves half an hour for the cars.
10:00 PM Lawn sound stops. Late music, if any, moves into the hall. The 10 PM noise rule. Confirm with the resort.
9:00 PM Pheras begin and run for about an hour. The ritual needs a quiet, lit mandap.
8:00 PM Dinner opens. Counters stay busy until about 10 PM. Gives 1,000 guests a two-hour window.
7:30 PM Jaimala on the stage. Guests are in, and the lighting is working.
6:30 PM Baraat arrives. Milni and dancing at the gate. Gives the band an hour before dinner.
6:00 PM Early guests arrive. Welcome drinks and starters. Spreads the arrivals.

If your pandit gives a pheras time after 10:30 PM, do not hope the resort will bend. Either choose another date or ask in writing whether a ritual without music can run past closing. If your muhurat is in the morning or afternoon, the 8 AM start works in your favour, and a lunch reception on the lawn skips the clock problem altogether.

The dinner maths: how many counters 1,000 guests need

This is the section most venue guides skip, and it is where large weddings go wrong. A crowd of 1,000 does not eat at once. It eats in a rush over about two hours, and the queue decides how people remember your wedding.

Our rule of thumb is that one buffet line serves about 120 guests an hour on a full menu. Add a quarter on top for the peak, because everyone arrives hungry at the same moment.

Guests Dinner window Guests per hour Buffet lines needed
500 2 hours 250 3
1,000 2 hours 500 5 to 6
1,500 2 hours 750 8

Chaat, pasta and tandoor counters are extra. They do not replace buffet lines, because guests treat them as snacks before the main meal. Brief your caterer with these numbers, and ask how many serving staff each line comes with. The listing says outside caterers are allowed, so you can bring one that handles crowds this size. Our wedding catering services page explains how we run tastings and counter planning for large lists.

The 90-vehicle problem

The listing shows space for about 90 vehicles and no valet service. That sounds like a lot until you do the sum. We assume 75% of guests arrive by car, with about 3.5 people in each, and that only about 60% of those cars are on site at the same moment because guests arrive and leave in waves. Change those inputs for your own family.

Guests Cars over the evening Cars at the peak Compared with 90 spaces
500 About 107 About 64 Fits, with little room to spare
1,000 About 214 About 129 About 40 short at peak
1,500 About 321 About 193 More than double the space

There are three ways to close the gap. Hire parking marshals and use the road in front with local permission. Rent an open plot nearby and run a small shuttle. Or push guests towards cabs and the metro with a clear note on the invitation. Whichever you pick, budget for it, and tell the resort early. If your baraat arrives with a band and a horse, also ask who handles the road and check the local rules for a baraat on a public street.

Let's Create Your Dream Wedding

What a ₹900 plate really means

The main listing shows ₹900 for a vegetarian plate and ₹1,000 for non-veg. The same page says the venue provides no food and that outside caterers are allowed. Those two facts can both be true if ₹900 is the starting rate of a caterer the listing site works with. The number may also simply be old. Do not put it in your budget until the resort tells you what it covers.

At this price, expect a plain wedding buffet. Here are the three tiers we plan with for large lawn weddings in Jaipur, before tax.

Menu tier Plate rate What you usually get
Basic ₹900–1,100 Welcome drink, 2 to 3 starters, one chaat counter, 3 vegetable dishes, dal, rice, roti, 2 sweets
Standard ₹1,200–1,600 3 to 4 live counters, 5 vegetable dishes, two rice dishes, 3 desserts
Premium ₹1,700–2,300 Wider starter list, 6 or more counters, regional stations, ice cream and kulfi, mocktails

The ₹100 rule

Every extra ₹100 on the plate adds ₹1.18 lakh to a 1,000-guest wedding once 18% GST is included. That is ₹59,000 at 500 guests and ₹1.77 lakh at 1,500. Before you agree to one more live counter, ask how many hundreds it adds.

Invited guests are not plates

Caterers bill on a guaranteed number, not on your invitation list. Here is what that looks like for 1,500 invitations.

Share who attend Plates Food at ₹1,400 with GST
70% 1,050 ₹17.3 lakh
80% 1,200 ₹19.8 lakh
90% 1,350 ₹22.3 lakh

The gap between 70% and 90% is five lakh rupees. Ask your caterer what attendance share they plan for, ask how the guarantee works, and ask what happens to extra plates on the night. Ask for their valid FSSAI licence too.

Décor: spend where people look

A lawn that holds 1,500 looks empty if you decorate it like a living room. Spend on the places guests actually look at: the gate, the stage, the mandap, the counters and one or two photo spots. Let lighting carry everything else.

Guests Décor and lighting we plan for What it covers
500 ₹4–8 lakh Entrance, stage, mandap, key counters, lighting
1,000 ₹6–14 lakh All of the above, plus a lit approach, seating areas and a second stage
1,500 ₹8–18 lakh A larger stage, themed zones, heavy lighting and a longer entrance

The listing says outside decorators are allowed without royalty, so you can compare three or four quotes. It also says the venue provides décor, so ask which one applies. Find out about power too. Large lights and sound systems pull serious load, and you need to know whether a generator is on site and who pays for fuel.

Let's Create Your Dream Wedding

Jaipur Vilas Resort wedding cost: what you will actually pay

These are our planning estimates for one main wedding day. They use the listed plate rate at the low end and our own contract ranges for everything else, and they are not quotes from the resort. For multi-day weddings where guests stay together, our destination wedding cost in Jaipur guide has the full tier tables.

Cost line 500 guests 1,000 guests 1,500 guests
Venue rental (not published, our placeholder) ₹1–3 L ₹1.5–4 L ₹2–5 L
Food with 18% GST (₹900 to ₹1,900 plate) ₹5.3–11.2 L ₹10.6–22.4 L ₹15.9–33.6 L
Décor and lighting ₹4–8 L ₹6–14 L ₹8–18 L
Photography and film ₹1.5–3 L ₹2–5 L ₹2.5–6 L
DJ, sound and entertainment ₹1–3 L ₹2–6 L ₹3–8 L
Power backup, security, parking staff ₹0.5–1.5 L ₹1–3 L ₹1.5–4 L
Planner fee ₹1.5–2.5 L ₹2–3.5 L ₹2.5–4.5 L
Buffer (8%) Included in total Included in total Included in total
Estimated total ₹16–35 L ₹27–63 L ₹38–86 L
Per guest ₹3,200–7,000 ₹2,700–6,300 ₹2,600–5,700

The resort does not publish its rental, so that first line is a placeholder until you have a written quote. The totals also leave out guest rooms, outfits, jewellery, invitations and any separate mehndi or sangeet. Those functions often happen elsewhere, because this venue closes at 11 PM and has no rooms.

Where each ₹100 goes

Take the middle of the 1,000-guest column. Roughly ₹39 of every ₹100 goes to food, ₹24 to décor and lighting, ₹10 to sound and entertainment, ₹8 to photography, ₹7 to the planner, ₹7 to venue rental and ₹5 to power, security and parking staff. Food and décor together take about 63 rupees. That is why your plate rate and your decorator matter more than any rental negotiation.

Per-guest cost falls as the list grows, but only a little, because food scales with every guest. Going from 500 to 1,000 guests adds roughly ₹11–28 lakh, and 1,000 to 1,500 adds about ₹11–23 lakh. For other sizes, see our wedding budget for 100, 200 and 500 guests, or the Hindi guide, Jaipur mein shaadi ka total kharcha.

Alcohol, permits and paperwork

The listing says alcohol is allowed, including outside alcohol, with corkage. That is good news, because it lets you shop for a bar vendor. It does not tell you who arranges the excise permission to serve liquor at a function, and the state excise department sets those rules and fees, so ask the resort who handles it and get the answer in writing. Budget ₹1,500–2,500 per drinking guest for a bar evening, plus bartenders.

Also ask who is responsible for loudspeaker and baraat permissions, and keep the tax side clear. Food carries 18% GST, and the GST portal lists the current rates.

Rain, heat and winter dusk

A lawn wedding is a bet on the weather, and the 400-seat hall cannot cover a 1,000-guest crowd. If you marry in the wet months, your real backup is a waterproof structure over part of the lawn, so ask your decorator for a quote before you sign. Across our Jaipur contracts, the same wedding moves 20 to 40 percent in price depending on the month. That is a market pattern and not this resort’s rate card, so ask whether the rental changes by season.

Season Months Price effect What it means on this lawn
Peak 15 Nov to 15 Feb 1.3x to 1.5x Cool evenings. Dark by about 5:30 PM, so lighting matters from the start.
Shoulder October and 1 to 15 March 1.0x to 1.15x Pleasant evenings and better value.
Off-peak April to June 0.7x to 0.85x Hot. Hold events after sunset and use the AC hall.
Monsoon July to September 0.6x to 0.8x Cheapest, but you need a waterproof lawn structure.

Muhurat dates matter more than the month. Weddings restart after Dev Uthani Ekadashi in the second half of November, and many families chase the same few dates, so check with your pandit early. Our guide to the best month for a Jaipur wedding has more, the India Meteorological Department has the forecast as your date nears, and this is how we handled one rainy night: the rain-proof outdoor wedding story.

Let's Create Your Dream Wedding

No rooms: where do your guests sleep?

The listing shows no rooms on site, so out-of-town guests need hotels in Sanganer, near the airport or in Mansarovar, plus a shuttle for the wedding night. As a quick example, 60 rooms for two nights at ₹4,500 comes to ₹5.4 lakh. The ₹4,500 is our assumption, so get live quotes. If you are hosting guests flying in from abroad, our page on NRI wedding planning shows how we handle travel and stays over video calls.

If you want everyone under one roof, look at stay-in venues instead. The Samskara Resort Jaipur wedding cost guide covers a farm resort with 50 rooms, and our palace wedding venues comparison shows how heritage properties differ. For context at other price points, here are the Chomu Palace wedding cost, Fairmont Jaipur wedding cost, Samode Palace wedding cost and ITC Rajputana wedding cost, and at the top end the Rambagh Palace budget guide.

Three families, three decisions

These are made-up examples, but the situations are common.

The 1,200-guest family with a 9 PM muhurat. Book it. The lawn is built for this size, the plate rate keeps food in check, and the muhurat fits the clock. Spend your attention on parking and the dinner counters, and keep the budget close to the ₹27–63 lakh range.

The 400-guest family that wants relatives staying together for three days. Skip it. There are no rooms, the venue closes at 11 PM and the big lawn will feel half empty. A stay-in venue will give you a better wedding for the same effort.

The 900-guest family with a pheras muhurat at 12:40 AM. Change the date, or change the venue. A closing time of 11 PM and no overnight events cannot hold a midnight ritual, and asking the resort to bend the rule is not a plan.

What to get in writing before you pay the 25%

The listing shows 25% at booking and a non-cancellable policy. Once you pay, your leverage is gone, so collect these first.

  1. The rental for your date, and whether it includes GST.
  2. What the ₹900 and ₹1,000 plate rates cover, and who the caterer is.
  3. Permission to bring your own caterer, with any fee stated.
  4. Capacity for your layout in the lawn and the hall.
  5. The exact closing time, and whether pheras can run past it without music.
  6. How the 10 PM sound rule applies on the lawn, and whether the hall can take late music.
  7. Whether the hall AC is charged separately.
  8. Corkage rate, and who arranges the liquor permission.
  9. Generator, fuel and the power load available.
  10. Parking numbers, and where overflow cars may go.
  11. Date-change terms, since the booking is non-cancellable.
  12. Whether prices change in peak season.

Who needs a planner on a night like this

On a 1,000-guest evening, the caterer watches the kitchen and the decorator watches the stage. Nobody watches the gate, the cars, the baraat, the counters, the timeline and the clock at once. That is the job of a wedding planner in Jaipur, and it is the work we have done for more than 12 years. Some of it shows in our real wedding stories.

Our fee for a wedding of this size usually lands between ₹1.5 lakh and ₹4.5 lakh, and the Jaipur wedding packages page shows what each plan covers. For vendors, see our photography and videography and entertainment services pages. We plan both Marwari weddings and Punjabi weddings, and we can help with a pre-wedding shoot in Jaipur before the big day.

Does Jaipur Vilas Resort have rooms?

No. The listing shows no rooms on site, so you need hotels nearby for out-of-town guests.

Can I bring my own caterer to Jaipur Vilas Resort?

Yes. The listing says outside caterers are allowed, and non-veg food is allowed. Ask whether any fee applies.

Is Jaipur Vilas Resort right for a destination wedding?

It suits a very large guest list that gathers for one main day. It is a poor fit for a multi-day destination wedding, because there are no rooms and the venue closes at 11 PM. For a stay-in alternative, read the Samskara Resort Jaipur wedding cost guide.

The short version

Jaipur Vilas Resort is a very big, very simple lawn. It can hold a 1,500-guest Jaipur wedding at a plate rate most hotels cannot match, and it asks you to respect three limits: 90 cars, an 11 PM clock and a venue with no rooms. If your family fits inside those limits, you can build a good wedding here for ₹27–63 lakh at 1,000 guests. If it does not, a different venue will save you more than any negotiation will.

Where these numbers come from

Capacity, plate rates, policies and the address come from the Weddingz listing for Jaipur Vilas Resort , with hours and nearby stations cross-checked on a second listing at Yappe. Neighbouring venue figures come from the WedMeGood pages for Pride Amber Vilas and V2 Paradise Resort and Villas. Everything we call an estimate or rule of thumb is ours.
