Search for the Raffles Udaipur wedding cost and you will find numbers anywhere between ₹45 lakh and ₹6.5 crore for what looks like the same venue. Both numbers are published. Neither is "wrong". They simply describe different weddings: a different number of nights, rooms, guests and inclusions, with or without tax.
Raffles does not publish wedding rates, so every figure online is a planner estimate. That is exactly why families end up confused, and why a few wrong assumptions at the start of planning can move a final bill by 40 to 50 lakh rupees.
This guide does what most cost pages skip. It reconciles the published numbers, shows you the arithmetic behind each line, lists the charges that rarely appear in a headline estimate, and gives you a working budget model for 100, 150 and 200 guests that you can adjust to your own quote. We plan destination weddings across Rajasthan and Raffles Udaipur is one of the Udaipur venues we work at, so the logistics advice here comes from the ground, not only from a rate card.
Based on a review of more than ten 2026-27 estimates from planner blogs, venue-listing sites and wedding marketplaces, these are the ranges that keep appearing. They are planning estimates, not Raffles rate-card prices.
| Wedding format | Published planning range | What it usually covers |
|---|---|---|
| 100 guests, 2 days | ₹1.4 – 2.2 crore | Rooms, meals, décor, sound/light, photography, entertainment, management |
| 150 guests, 2 days | ₹2.0 – 2.8 crore | Same, with a larger room block and a bigger sangeet production |
| 180 – 200 guests, 2 days | ₹1.8 – 3.5 crore+ | Several sources put 150-200 guests at ₹1.8-3.8 crore; one venue profile says about ₹3 crore + GST before décor for 200 guests |
| 200 guests, 3 nights | ₹3 – 6.5 crore | Wide spread: mainstream estimates sit near ₹3-5 crore, premium-production quotes reach ₹4.5-6.5 crore |
| 2-night island takeover (venue and stay only) | ₹1 – 1.5 crore | Rooms and hotel-side inclusions only, no décor or entertainment |
| 3-night buyout (venue and stay only) | ₹1.5 – 3.5 crore | Same logic over one more night |
| Unit price | Published range | Where most estimates cluster |
|---|---|---|
| Room per night | ₹38,000 – ₹1.8 lakh | ₹55,000 – ₹1.3 lakh (peak dates sit at the top) |
| Per plate (principal meals) | ₹5,000 – ₹18,000 | ₹9,000 – ₹15,000 |
| Décor | ₹15 lakh – ₹1 crore+ | ₹35 – 75 lakh for a luxury multi-function setup |
| Booking advance | About 25% of deal value | Reported by one venue listing; confirm in your own contract |
| GST | Typically 18% on hotel charges | Almost always extra to the quoted figure |
For 150 guests over two nights, plan for ₹2.5 to ₹3 crore all-in (tax and a 10% buffer included). If someone quotes you much below that for a full multi-function wedding at Raffles, treat it as a quote to audit line by line, not as good news. Section 8 shows exactly how we reach that number.
Before you trust or dismiss any Raffles estimate, check these six variables. In our experience, almost every "conflict" between two published numbers traces back to one of them.
| Variable | Why it changes the number | Typical effect |
|---|---|---|
| Scope | Some figures are venue-and-stay only. Others are complete weddings with décor, entertainment and management. | Can differ by ₹1 crore or more |
| Nights | A 2-night and a 3-night wedding differ by a full set of room-nights, meals and one more function. | +₹60 lakh to ₹1.5 crore |
| Guest and room count | Rooms are the largest single line. 60 rooms and 100 rooms are very different bills. | Moves the total more than any other variable |
| Tax | Hotel charges usually attract 18% GST. Headline estimates often leave it out. | ₹25 – 50 lakh on a ₹2.5 crore wedding |
| Dates | Auspicious muhurat dates and the December-February window cost more than shoulder dates. | Room rate swings between the low and high end of the range |
| Age of the data | Raffles Udaipur opened around 2021. Launch-era figures (for example room rates near ₹45,000-50,000) are far below 2025-26 quotes. | Old pages understate today's cost |
There is also a data problem. Raffles is a young property with relatively few large weddings on record, and the hotel itself invites couples to build a proposal rather than publishing a package price. That is why you will see such a wide spread. Budget within the wider band until you hold a written quote for your own dates.
Two rules we give every family:
Raffles Udaipur sits on a 21-acre private island in Udai Sagar Lake, with the Aravalli hills behind. Guests normally drive to the Raffles Lakeshore Pavilion (roughly 20 minutes from Udaipur airport) and then take a boat of about 10 minutes to the island. That arrival is part of the experience, and it also shapes your logistics and budget, which we cover in Section 10.
| Feature | What is reported |
|---|---|
| Setting | 21-acre private island on Udai Sagar Lake, with a separate Lakeshore wing on the mainland |
| Rooms | 101 rooms and suites on the island plus 36 at the Lakeshore: 137 in total |
| Island room mix | 84 Flamingo Signature rooms (garden, balcony or plunge-pool variants) and 17 suites (Manor, Oasis with plunge pool, one Presidential) |
| Room size | Signature rooms are roughly 645 – 667 sq ft; Manor and Oasis suites about 1,291 sq ft |
| Wedding spaces | Five lawns, a garden temple inspired by a 400-year-old Mahadev temple, a large ballroom with a pre-function area, and the Great Park for large ceremonies |
| Dining | Sawai Kitchen (Rajputana), Rasoi (regional), Raffles Patisserie, Writers Bar, Long Bar, Harvest and a pool bar |
| Hospitality | Raffles Butler service, spa, private boat transfers and an in-house wedding team |
| Menus listed | North Indian/Mughlai, Continental, Chinese/Thai, South Indian, Jain/onion-garlic-free options, chaat and street food |
| Outside catering | Reported as not allowed, so food is hotel-supplied |
Capacity figures below are the ones planners commonly report. They change with layout (seated, theatre, cocktail), so always ask the hotel for the floor plan for your function and headcount. Ballroom size in particular is reported as both 6,000 and 9,000 sq ft in different places, so verify before you design a sangeet stage around it.
| Space | Reported size | Best use | Reported capacity |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parterre Lawn | 11,040 sq ft | Welcome lunch, intimate mehendi | About 250 |
| Compass Lawn (poolside) | 5,400 sq ft | Haldi with a poolside backdrop | About 200 |
| English Garden Lawn | 19,500 sq ft | Sangeet in a garden setting | About 350 |
| Grand Ballroom | 6,000 – 9,000 sq ft | Sangeet, reception, after-party | About 250 |
| The Great Park | 38,400 sq ft | Mandap ceremony or grand gala dinner with lake views | About 600 |
| Garden temple and baraat pathway | n/a | Sehrabandi and baraat entry | Family-scale |
Accommodation is the biggest line in a Raffles wedding. It is also the line most often misunderstood, because room rates are quoted in two very different ways:
If one quote is room-only and another is a package, they cannot be compared. Always ask which one you are looking at. Published room rates range from about ₹38,000 to ₹1.8 lakh per night, with most estimates between ₹55,000 and ₹1.3 lakh. Peak dates and suite categories sit at the top.
Our working rule is 0.4 to 0.5 rooms per guest. Couples and families share, bachelor groups and cousins often pair up, and vendors, artists and your own team need rooms too. A 150-guest wedding therefore usually needs 60 to 75 rooms, not 150.
| Rooms booked | @ ₹55,000 / night | @ ₹80,000 / night | @ ₹1.3 lakh / night |
|---|---|---|---|
| 40 rooms | ₹44 L | ₹64 L | ₹1.04 Cr |
| 60 rooms | ₹66 L | ₹96 L | ₹1.56 Cr |
| 80 rooms | ₹88 L | ₹1.28 Cr | ₹2.08 Cr |
| 101 rooms (whole island) | ₹1.11 Cr | ₹1.62 Cr | ₹2.63 Cr |
| 137 rooms (full buyout) | ₹1.51 Cr | ₹2.19 Cr | ₹3.56 Cr |
Read the table as pure room revenue over two nights, before tax and before any food. It shows why "island takeover" figures vary so much: the same property, booked at 101 rooms or 137 rooms, at an off-peak or peak rate, lands anywhere from about ₹1.1 crore to ₹3.6 crore on rooms alone.
The wider Raffles offering splits guests across two settings: 101 island rooms for the inner circle, and 36 Lakeshore rooms on the mainland for the extended list. Used well, this gives your wedding two textures, intimate and grand, inside one booking. Used carelessly, it creates two tiers of guests. Decide early who stays where, and tell guests why, before the invitations go out. A good wedding planner in Udaipur treats room allocation as diplomacy as much as logistics.
Published per-plate figures for Raffles run from about ₹5,000 to ₹18,000, with most estimates between ₹9,000 and ₹15,000. Lunch menus are generally priced below dinner and gala menus. Because outside catering is reported as not permitted, you cannot offset this line by bringing in an external caterer. You can, however, shape it through menu design.
| Guests | @ ₹6,000 | @ ₹9,000 | @ ₹12,000 | @ ₹15,000 |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 100 guests | ₹24 L | ₹36 L | ₹48 L | ₹60 L |
| 150 guests | ₹36 L | ₹54 L | ₹72 L | ₹90 L |
| 200 guests | ₹48 L | ₹72 L | ₹96 L | ₹1.2 Cr |
Four principal meals is a realistic two-day count: a welcome lunch, a sangeet or cocktail dinner, a wedding lunch or dinner, and a reception or gala dinner. Breakfasts, hi-tea and late-night snacks are usually in the room rate or priced separately, so confirm where they sit.
Soft and hard beverages are typically charged on consumption, not included in the plate price. For a wedding with a sangeet and an after-party, bar spend can become a major line. Ask whether the hotel offers per-head bar packages or only consumption billing, whether imported labels are priced separately, and what the bar closing time is on each night.
Published estimates put venue and basic event-setup charges for a two to three-day wedding at roughly ₹20 to ₹35 lakh. One marketplace profile lists rental-only pricing from ₹3 lakh per day, rising to about ₹10 lakh per day for premium spaces. When a quote lists "venue: included", ask exactly which spaces and which hours are included, and whether a second function in the same lawn on the same day is charged again.
A venue profile lists décor at Raffles starting near ₹15 lakh and reaching about ₹30 lakh, while planner estimates for a luxury multi-function wedding run from ₹35 lakh to ₹1 crore or more. Both can be true: the first describes a standard setup, the second a fully designed wedding with custom structures and imported flowers.
On an island, décor costs more than the same design on the mainland. Materials, florals, lighting rigs and labour have to be ferried across and scheduled around boat movement. That is one reason we design with the property rather than against it. Raffles already has strong architecture, lake views and manicured gardens. Fresh flowers, soft lighting and well-proportioned mandaps usually look more expensive than heavy theming.
As a starting split of the total décor budget: wedding ceremony 35-40%, sangeet 25-30%, reception or gala 15-20%, mehendi and haldi 10-15%, welcome event 5-8%. Reuse structural elements such as mandap frames, arches and lighting across functions to stretch the same investment.
Planner ranges run from about ₹10 lakh to ₹50 lakh or more, depending on whether you book a DJ and live band, folk artists and choreographers, or a celebrity performer. Budget artists' travel and stay separately, and check sound limits for late nights in Udaipur before you plan the after-party. Our entertainment and artist management team builds the schedule around local permissions, not just the artist's rider.
Expect ₹10 to ₹25 lakh or more for multi-day coverage with a candid team, a traditional team, a cinematic film and drone permissions where allowed. Raffles photographs beautifully, so this is an area where an experienced team pays for itself. See how our photography and videography team plans shot lists around light, lake and boat timings.
Published planning ranges for airport transfers, local transport, welcome desks, hampers, luggage handling and hospitality staffing run from about ₹15 to ₹40 lakh. This line grows quickly when guests arrive from many cities on many flights.
Planner fees and production management appear in published ranges of about ₹20 to ₹50 lakh for luxury weddings. A planner's real value is not only execution on the day. It is the quote audit, vendor negotiation and timeline control that keep the other lines honest.
This is the part almost no competing page covers in detail, and it is where budgets break. Use the table as a checklist when you read any Raffles proposal.
| Item | What to confirm | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| GST | Is the quote exclusive of 18% GST? Which lines does it apply to? | On a ₹2.5 crore wedding, tax can add tens of lakhs |
| Alcohol | Per-head package or consumption billing? Imported labels? Bar close time? | Usually excluded from plate price |
| Airport and local transfers | Included or extra? Boat transfers included? | Reported as not included in some hotel packages |
| Meals inside room rate | Breakfast only, or lunch, hi-tea and gala dinners too? | Prevents double-counting food |
| Extra guests | Per-person charge above the contracted headcount | Last-minute additions are common |
| Vendor and artist rooms | Rate and number of complimentary rooms for your team | Often billed at full rate |
| Early check-in, late check-out | Policy and charges on arrival and departure days | Flights rarely match check-in times |
| Outside vendor policy | Décor, sound, light and photography vendor entry rules, fees or deposits | Can add charges and compliance steps |
| Power, generator, sound | Who supplies load, and what is the permitted sound cut-off? | Affects production cost and the after-party |
| Fireworks, drones, special entries | Permissions and venue approval needed? | Not every effect is allowed on an island |
| Cancellation and attrition | Room-release dates, minimum F&B guarantee, refund schedule | Protects you if the guest list shrinks |
| Payment schedule | Advance percentage and instalment dates | One listing reports a 25% booking amount; confirm yours |
Here is the model we use in the first planning call, so you can see how a headline number turns into an all-in number. These are illustrative planning figures built from the published ranges above, not a Raffles quotation. Replace our assumptions with the numbers from your own proposal.
Total = (Rooms × Nights × Rate) + (Guests × Principal meals × Plate) + Venue + Décor + Entertainment + Photography/Film + Guest logistics + Planning + GST on hotel charges + 10% contingency
Assumptions: 2 nights, 0.4 rooms per guest, ₹65,000 per room-night (room-only), 4 principal meals at ₹7,500 per plate, GST at 18% on hotel-billed lines (rooms, food and venue). Vendor invoices may carry their own tax; confirm with each vendor.
| Line item | 100 guests | 150 guests | 200 guests |
|---|---|---|---|
| Rooms (2 nights) | 40 rooms: ₹52 L | 60 rooms: ₹78 L | 80 rooms: ₹1.04 Cr |
| Food (4 principal meals) | ₹30 L | ₹45 L | ₹60 L |
| Venue and event spaces | ₹15 L | ₹20 L | ₹25 L |
| Décor and florals | ₹30 L | ₹40 L | ₹55 L |
| Entertainment | ₹12 L | ₹15 L | ₹20 L |
| Photography and film | ₹10 L | ₹12 L | ₹15 L |
| Guest logistics | ₹8 L | ₹12 L | ₹16 L |
| Planning and production | ₹15 L | ₹20 L | ₹25 L |
| Pre-tax subtotal | ₹1.72 Cr | ₹2.42 Cr | ₹3.2 Cr |
| GST on hotel lines (18%) | ₹17.5 L | ₹25.7 L | ₹34 L |
| Contingency (10%) | ₹17.2 L | ₹24.2 L | ₹32 L |
| All-in total | ₹2.07 Cr | ₹2.92 Cr | ₹3.86 Cr |
Notice the gap between the pre-tax subtotal and the all-in total. For the 150-guest wedding, the headline-style figure is about ₹2.42 Cr, but once hotel GST and a sensible buffer are added the real number is about ₹2.92 Cr. That difference of about ₹50 lakh is exactly what surprises families who budget from a blog headline.
Entertainment, décor and photography are where you have the most creative control. Rooms and food are the most contractually fixed. A smart budget conversation spends its energy on the second group first, because that is where small decisions create large savings.
Raffles identifies October to March as the ideal wedding window in Udaipur, thanks to comfortable weather for lawns, garden ceremonies and lake-facing evenings. December to February is the most in-demand stretch, and auspicious muhurat dates inside it sell first. Peak dates sit at the high end of the published room-rate range.
A wedding on a private island is a logistics project first and a décor project second. These are the points we raise with every family at Raffles, because each one has a cost or a risk attached.
This is also where an on-ground planner earns the fee. Our Raffles Udaipur planning page explains how we structure arrivals, vendor movement and function flow for an island wedding.
| When | Function | Suggested space | Budget note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Day 1, afternoon | Arrivals, welcome lunch | Parterre Lawn / restaurants | Keep light. Guests are tired and still arriving |
| Day 1, late afternoon | Mehendi and haldi | Compass Lawn (poolside) | Colour over complexity; reuse florals |
| Day 1, night | Sangeet and cocktail | English Garden Lawn or Ballroom | Largest entertainment spend; fix bar model early |
| Day 2, afternoon | Baraat, sehrabandi, pheras | Garden temple, Great Park or lawn | Your signature décor spend |
| Day 2, night | Reception and gala dinner | Great Park or Ballroom | Reuse ceremony structure with new lighting |
| Day 3, morning | Farewell breakfast | Restaurants | Keep simple; guests are departing |
The extra night adds a full set of room-nights, at least one more meal service and another décor and entertainment cycle. In exchange, guests are less rushed and photography has more daylight to work with. If your budget is tight, a well-paced two-night wedding usually feels richer than a stretched three-night one.
Our catering coordination and destination wedding planning Udaipur teams build these levers into the first budget, so savings are designed rather than negotiated at the last minute.

Take this list into every conversation with the hotel and with your planner. A good proposal answers all of them in writing.
| Time before wedding | What to lock |
|---|---|
| 12 – 9 months | Guest count range, budget ceiling, date options, hotel availability and first proposal, planner selection |
| 9 – 7 months | Dates and contract, room block, payment schedule, function list, décor concept brief |
| 7 – 5 months | Entertainment, photography and film, menu tastings, invitation and save-the-date, guest travel plan |
| 5 – 3 months | Final décor design and mock-ups, artist contracts, transport plan, boat and arrival schedule |
| 3 – 1 month | Guest list and room allocation final, rooming list to hotel, sound and fireworks permissions, run-of-show draft |

Published 2025-26 planning estimates put a two-day luxury wedding for 150-200 guests at roughly ₹1.8 to ₹3.5 crore or more, and a three-night wedding for 200 guests at ₹3 to ₹6.5 crore. Raffles does not publish wedding rates, so these are estimates. Our own model puts 150 guests over two nights at about ₹2.92 Cr all-in with tax and a buffer.
Estimates range from about ₹1.4 to ₹2.2 crore for two days. Smaller guest lists reduce rooms and food but not fixed costs like décor, entertainment and production, so the cost does not fall in direct proportion to headcount.
Planning estimates sit around ₹2 to ₹2.8 crore for two days before tax and buffer. With 18% GST on hotel charges and a 10% contingency, the all-in figure is closer to ₹2.92 Cr in our model.
Estimates run from about ₹2.4 to ₹3.5 crore or more for two days. One venue profile cites about ₹3 crore plus GST before décor for a 200-guest, two-day wedding. Premium-production three-night quotes reach ₹4.5 to ₹6.5 crore.
Published figures range from ₹5,000 to ₹18,000, with most between ₹9,000 and ₹15,000. Lunch usually costs less than dinner or gala menus. Beverages are typically extra.
Published estimates range from about ₹38,000 to ₹1.8 lakh per room per night, with most between ₹55,000 and ₹1.3 lakh. Always confirm whether the rate is room-only or includes meals.
137 rooms and suites in total: 101 on the private island and 36 at the Lakeshore. Some pages mention only the 101 island rooms, so check which count a quote assumes.
Typically no. Hotel charges usually attract 18% GST on top of the quoted figure. Ask for a tax-inclusive total in writing.
One venue profile reports a minimum booking amount of 25% of the total deal value. Your contract may differ, so confirm the percentage and the instalment schedule.
Plan 9 to 12 months ahead for peak season and auspicious dates. October to March is the preferred window, and December to February is the busiest.
Outside catering is reported as not allowed, so food is supplied by the hotel. Menus can be customised, including Jain and onion-garlic-free options.
Yes. The lawns, garden temple, ballroom and Great Park can host welcome events, mehendi, haldi, sangeet, the wedding ceremony, reception and a farewell brunch.
A two-night wedding is the most cost-efficient for 100-200 guests. A third night adds comfort and photography time but also a full set of room-nights, meals and one more function.
Common exclusions are GST, alcohol on consumption, airport and local transfers, outside vendor charges, extra guests, and early check-in or late check-out. Use the checklist in Section 7.
At entry level, published estimates suggest a Raffles two-night takeover (about ₹1 to 1.5 crore) starts below the Taj Lake Palace minimum venue-and-stay commitment (above ₹1.2 crore). Raffles also holds more rooms and guests. At 200 guests over three nights the two converge.
The hotel has an in-house wedding team, but a planner coordinates décor, entertainment, photography, guest logistics and the quote audit across all vendors. On an island venue, ground coordination matters even more.
